RESOURCES
Over the years, HBPT and its members have established a collection of Hampshire related books, for use as a reading resource. We believe that such a resource would be a valuable research capability for our membership. We have not yet undertaken a formal review process of this collection, but in time we hope to provide additional information about each publication and a search-engine to help researchers identify and potentially borrow books (at a small cost). The first stage was simply to produce a quick picture reference as to what is available, by scanning just the book covers.
Over time we will catalogue the collection into subject areas, such as geographical areas, architecture, industrial archaeological (Mills etc.), vernacular, and building repair, preservation, and conservation.
We also aim to make this resource interactive, with members adding their own books to this resource. A future possibility would be the reviewing of new publications on building within Hampshire.
